RICK D. PATT is a native of Natchez, Mississippi, and is a graduate of Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. After his undergraduate work, he obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1990. After law school, Rick Patt began working for the University of Mississippi Judicial College as an attorney then Deputy Director in the area of judicial education for the Mississippi court system. He then worked as Deputy Director, then Acting Director of the Mississippi Administrative Office of Courts, the statewide agency overseeing the Mississippi state trial court system. For the past fourteen-plus years, Mr. Patt has been in the private practice of law representing clients in the state and federal courts of Mississippi. He is a regular, sought-out speaker for continuing legal education seminars, and has given hundreds of lectures to attorneys and judges in Mississippi and other states.
