RICK D. PATT
is a native of Natchez, Mississippi, and is a graduate of Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. After his undergraduate work, he obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1990. After law school, Rick Patt began working with the state’s judicial system in his work for the University of Mississippi Judicial College as an attorney, and then Deputy Director, in the area of judicial education for the Mississippi court system. He quickly moved up the system, and became Deputy Director, then Acting Director – for four years - of the Mississippi Administrative Office of Courts, the statewide agency overseeing the Mississippi state trial court system. After leaving for the private sector, for the past seventeen years, Mr. Patt has been in the private practice of law representing clients in the state and federal courts of Mississippi. He is a regular, sought-out speaker for continuing legal education seminars, and has given hundreds of lectures to attorneys and judges in Mississippi and other states.
